New Patient Assessment

Approximately 45 minutes.
If you’re new to the clinic this is the assessment for you. During your new patient assessment, your medical history will be taken along with your current medication (please bring a copy of a recent prescription if possible). Your podiatrist will conduct a lower limb neuro-vascular assessment in order to determine your circulation and nerve function. Your podiatrist will listen to your concerns and devise a treatment plan that suits you.

Routine Appointment

Approximately 30 minutes.
Have you been to the clinic in the last 12 months? A routine appointment will tend to the trimming of your toe nails, removal of any corns, callus/hard skin, reducing any thickened/fungal nails/cracked heels/fissures, fungal nail/fungal skin treatments, verruca treatment (some options incur an additional charge) diabetic foot care, general foot care and advice. Your treatment will be completed with an optional application of emollient and short foot massage.

Podiatry Plus Appointment

Options: 45 minutes or 60 minutes.
For existing patients only. This appointment is best suited for patients who need more time spent on their feet to achieve the foot results they need. Whether this be because you can’t attend the clinic as often as you’d like or your foot needs are more complex, this appointment option can be discussed at your initial new patient appointment.

Children’s Podiatry Appointment

Approximately 30 minutes.
This appointment covers the same treatment options as a routine appointment but for patients under the age of 16. A parent or guardian is required to attend any children’s appointments. Typical podiatry complaints for children are, ingrown toenails, verrucas, hard skin and foot pain.

Just Nails Appointment

Approximately 15 minutes.
After an initial new patient assessment, if you simply just require your nails to be trimmed and filed this is the appointment for you. No skin work will be carried out at this appointment. If further podiatry treatment is required and provided a “routine appointment” fee will be charged instead of your “just nails appointment” fee. Your podiatrist will discuss any findings before carrying out any additional treatment.

Finger Nail Treatment

Approximately 10/15 minutes.
Patients requiring their finger nails to be trimmed and filed can add this treatment option to any of the above appointments, completed with optional application of hand cream. Great treatment add on for patients who struggle with dexterity and are unable to trim their own nails, or simply because you would prefer them to be professionally treated.

Verruca consultation

Approximately 30 minutes.
Verruca are warts that commonly occur on the feet caused by the human papilloma virus, there are over 100 strains of verruca and they are harmless, but can become painful depending where they are located on the foot. Evidence suggests that verruca can resolve of their own accord, however, this isn’t always the case. Multiple appointments may be required for treatment but no treatment is 100% effective with any treatment option.

Nail Surgery

Approximately 60 minutes. (initial consultation necessary prior to booking nail surgery).
This can be the total removal of a nail or the partial removal of nail (1 side or both sides of a nail, leaving a strip of nail for cosmetic purposes - this is usually recommended for patients wishing to have some nail remaining if the nail is wide enough to do so. This procedure is carried out under the use of a local anaesthetic and usually includes the use of a chemical to prevent regrowth unless this isn’t required. Nail surgery is usually considered for a variety of nail conditions such as; ingrowing toenails, involuted toenails, pincer toenails, paronychia, deformed toenails, problematic fungal nails.

Luxury Podiatry Treatment

Approximately 60 minutes.
This treatment includes your usual routine podiatry consisting of nail trimming, filing, reduction of thickened nails, reduction of hard skin/callus, removal of corns, followed by a foot cleanse, exfoliation, hot towelling, Paraffin wax treatment, optional application of Dr Remedy Nail Varnish and complete with mini foot massage and emollient application.

Diabetic Foot Check

(Annual screening advised).
People with diabetes may be at risk of developing foot problems. Being proactive and seeking diabetic foot screening which is recommended annually, can help to establish your level of risk for developing any foot problems. Your podiatrist will assess your pulses, use a Doppler to listen to your blood flow to the feet, assessing any signs of ischemia/foot deformity. Your feet can experience many changes over time and this is a good way of keeping on top of your foot risk status.

Fungal Nail Testing

Fungal nail infections can mimic other nails conditions, by having this speedy 5 minute test you’re eliminating the need for length lab results, it can help your podiatrist to devise a suitable treatment plan for you or refer for further testing if required.

Your new patient assessment will include your first session of treatment, such as nail cutting, reduction of any thickened/fungal nails, removal of corns, callus and hard skin. (multiple treatments may be required to achieve your foot goal and regular routine podiatry treatments may be required to maintain this).

Nail Reconstruction

Ideal for people who want to replicate the appearance of a healthy nail if they have damaged, fungal infected nails, these can be reduced down prior to application of resins to create a more aesthetically pleasing nail.
